“Ruben has been a true champion in the Nevada legislature working to increase the minimum wage, make college more affordable and ensure women earn equal pay for equal work,” said Congressman Xavier Becerra, Chair of the Democratic Caucus. “He will be a strong voice for our families in Congress.”

“We need people like Ruben who, on Day 1, will get to work in Congress on behalf of Nevadans and help us fight for guaranteeing paid medical and family leave and expanding access to affordable child care so that families have tools to live the American Dream,” said Congressman Raúl Grijalva, who also chairs the Progressive Caucus in Congress. “Ruben’s record stands in stark contrast to Rep. Hardy’s, who has voted twice to block consideration of equal pay legislation in Washington. Nevadans deserve a progressive voice like Ruben in Congress.”

“I have found in Ruben a person of character and leadership. He listens and then goes to work delivering on his promises and becomes a voice for those who can’t speak for themselves,” said Hannah Brown, President Emeritus of the Urban Chamber of Commerce. “His sponsorship of bills in the legislature to crack down on employers offering unfair wages to women is just one of many examples of his leadership. Ruben is the right choice for Congress for my community.”

“I am humbled by the outpouring of support for my campaign from leaders here in Nevada and across the country,” said State Senator Ruben Kihuen. “I am proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with these great leaders as we fight to give people a voice again in their government. Nevadans deserve better than Cresent Hardy’s shameful record against women and families and I pledge to work to move Nevada and the country forward towards policies of inclusion and equality.”

Kihuen’s campaign has previously been endorsed by U.S. Senator Harry Reid, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, 7 labor unions representing nearly 30,000 Nevadans and many other local and national leaders. You can see all of Kihuen’s endorsements at

State Senator Ruben Kihuen is running as a Democrat in Nevada’s 4th Congressional District. Ruben has a proven record of real results for working families. Born in Mexico, Ruben and his family immigrated to the United States in search of a better life. He worked his way through college and after graduation was inspired to “pay it forward” by working with other students at College of Southern Nevada. In the legislature, Ruben helped craft landmark bi-partisan bills increasing funding for our schools and making college more affordable, and he beat back a reckless Republican agenda attempting to dismantle worker’s rights, restrict women’s health care and repeal LGBTQ protections. Ruben is running for Congress to ensure everyone has a fair shot at the American Dream.
