Congressional Black Caucus PAC Endorses Ruben Kihuen

Las Vegas, NV — State Senator Ruben Kihuen’s campaign for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District announced the endorsement of the Congressional Black Caucus PAC today.

“Ruben has been a fearless champion for working families throughout his 10 years in the Nevada Legislature,” said Congressman Gregory Meeks, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus PAC. “We believe he will be a tremendous ally of all Democrats in Congress and that he is the best positioned to ensure we take back this majority-minority seat. The Congressional Black Caucus PAC is proud to endorse Ruben Kihuen in his bid for Congress.”

“I am humbled to received the endorsement of the Congressional Black Caucus PAC,” said State Senator Ruben Kihuen. “I am running to continue the work I started in Carson City of raising the minimum wage, ensuring equal pay for women and making college more affordable. I am eager to work with the Congressional Black Caucus to accomplish those goals in Congress.”

The Congressional Black Caucus PAC works to increase the number of African Americans in the U.S. Congress, support non-Black candidates that champion our interests, and promote African American participation in the political process-with an emphasis on young voters.

Kihuen’s campaign has previously been endorsed by President Bill Clinton, U.S. Senator Harry Reid, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, over a dozen labor unions, including the Nevada Sate AFL-CIO and the Culinary Union, and many other local and national leaders. State Senator Ruben Kihuen is running as a Democrat in Nevada’s 4th Congressional District. Ruben has a proven record of real results for working families. Born in Mexico, Ruben and his family immigrated to the United States in search of a better life. He worked his way through college and after graduation was inspired to “pay it forward” by working with other students at College of Southern Nevada. In the legislature, Ruben helped craft landmark bi-partisan bills increasing funding for our schools and making college more affordable, and he beat back a reckless Republican agenda attempting to dismantle worker’s rights, restrict women’s health care and repeal LGBTQ protections. Ruben is running for Congress to ensure everyone has a fair shot at the American Dream.
