Can’t Make This Up: Bundy Lawyer Files Lawsuit Over Nonexistent TV Ad He Hasn’t Seen

North Las Vegas, NV — Today, racist rancher and anti-government extremist Cliven Bundy filed a frivolous lawsuit against State Senator Ruben Kihuen. The lawsuit primarily references a television ad that does not exist. How did Cliven Bundy’s lawyer get so confused? Well, earlier today Bundy’s lawyer made the astounding claim that he hadn’t actually seen the ad that he filed a lawsuit over.

Talking Points Memo:

The Kihuen campaign told TPM it never aired a TV ad alleging that the 2014 Bundy standoff led to the deaths of two Las Vegas police officers.

As for the TV ad referenced in the complaint, Whipple said, “I have not seen the TV ad myself.”

“I don’t watch TV normally and if I do I just flip it to the History channel,” Whipple said. “I was told by people, in fact one of my paralegals, that they observed it.”

Dave Chase, campaign manager: “You can’t make this up: Cliven Bundy’s lawsuit against Ruben Kihuen is over a TV ad that doesn’t exist, and Bundy’s legal team is so incompetent that they didn’t bother to watch the ad before filing this frivolous complaint. For the record, the Kihuen campaign’s television ad that does highlight Bundy’s racism is also running on the History channel. Cliven Bundy’s bungled legal strategy makes it more and more apparent that this political stunt was intended to be a favor to his good friend Congressman Hardy.”
